Longview Habitat for Humanity is starting its fifth Women-Build project: “Patrick's House.” TDWGC members will be helping in various ways to build the new family home of Patrick Brown, a single male head-of-household with three young children. On Saturday, April 23, TDWGC members will prepared lunch for Habitat for Humanity workers on the job site. To participate in a work crew, contact Donna Rosenblum at calendar@tdwgc.com.
Women-Build projects provide an environment in which women can feel comfortable developing construction skills they might not otherwise have an oppportunity to learn. More than half of Habitat’s volunteer force is comprised of women, and Women-Build crews have built more than 250 Habitat homes in the United States.
The cost of Patrick’s three-bedroom, one-bath home will be $37,000. Your tax-deductible gift might provide:

We plan to create a listing of local businesses owned by Democrats or that support Democratic candidates. The format has not been decided yet—it may be in print or online, or both. If you would like to have your business listed, or know of a business owner who might like to be included, please contact either Juneau Embry, president@tdwgc.com or Marilyn Dillon, webmaster@tdwgc.com.
Meanwhile, put your dollars into national businesses that share your values—visit BuyBlue.org to learn which companies support Democratic candidates.
TDWGC members are making plans for a photographic wall calendar for 2006. Look for more information about this project later in the year.
